Version 2026-08-30.1
What you are buying
A licence to use an Elya recording in your own music. Elya keeps ownership of the recording and its composition in every case. What changes between a lease and an exclusive is how many other people can hold the same licence, and which files you receive.
Lease
Non-exclusive. You may record over the beat, release the result commercially, keep the revenue from it, and perform it live. Elya continues to licence the same beat to other artists. The licence is yours and cannot be transferred or resold to someone else.
Exclusive
The beat comes off sale permanently the moment the payment clears, and no further licence is issued for it to anyone. Leases sold before that point stay valid, because they were sold under their own terms. Elya still owns the recording. Elya may continue to use it in its own portfolio and showreels.
What you receive
The files listed on the beat's own page, and only those. That list is generated from the files that exist for that beat rather than from a general promise, so a beat released as an untagged MP3 says so and delivers exactly that. Where a WAV or stems exist, a lease includes the WAV and an exclusive includes the stems as well.
Delivery
Payment is taken by Stripe. Elya never sees your card details. When Stripe confirms the payment, a private download link is emailed to the address you gave at checkout. The link is yours alone and expires; if it lapses before you have the files, email madebyelya@gmail.com and it will be reissued.
Credit
Credit the producer named on the beat's page in the track title or description, in the form prod. followed by that name. This is asked of every licence, lease and exclusive alike.
What the licence does not allow
- Reselling, redistributing or relicensing the beat itself, in any form.
- Uploading the beat, its stems or its master to a sample library, a beat store, a content ID system or a distribution service as your own work.
- Registering the beat, unaltered, as a composition you wrote.
- Using the recording in a way that presents Elya as endorsing something.
If something goes wrong
If a download fails, arrives incomplete, or does not match what the beat's page said you would receive, email madebyelya@gmail.com and Elya will correct it. Include the order reference from your confirmation email.
Changes to these terms
These terms carry a version number, and every order records the version it was sold under. A later change does not reach back and alter a licence already granted: what you bought is what this page said on the day you bought it.
Who is licensing
Elya, an independent creative technology studio based in Québec, Canada. Questions about a licence go to madebyelya@gmail.com. How your personal information is handled is covered in the privacy policy.
